The Metamorphoses is a set of books of poetry written by Publius Ovidius Naso, or Ovid. Published around eight years after the start of the common era, Ovid tells of almost 300 myths--each with a physical transformation of a person or thing. A classic epic, Metamorphoses is a brilliant work of art that has been enjoyed throughout the ages.
